St John Hospital Auxiliary Society
President/ Ruth McIntosh
St. John Hospital Auxiliary Society was formed in 1940 with fifteen members, we currently have 16 active members. Our main purpose is to contribute directly to the comfort and welfare of hospital clients and Stuart Nechako Manor residents. St. John Hospital Auxiliary Society provides funds for purchase of equipment that enables staff to perform their duties while caring for clients and residents. This is done by various fundraising activities and donations directed to us from the community. We provide a Bursary for a local student pursuing post secondary studies in the human health care field, and also run a youth volunteer program.
Major fundraising activities include an annual raffle, walkathon, gift cabinet, patient cart, Purdy’s chocolate sales, online craft/plant sale, yard sale and bake sales. Donations are gratefully received from local businesses, industry, service clubs, and individuals.
