The Members of Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary are committed to the development and support of a caring, rewarding, and effective working environment. Members support and contribute to the climate, goals, and objectives of the Auxiliary to the best of their ability. We raise our Funds through our Thrift Shop and Gift Shop; all Fundraising proceeds are used to purchase equipment and patient comfort needs for Eagle Ridge Hospital and Eagle Ridge Manor
The Auxiliary donates approximately $25,000 annually for the purchase of equipment at Eagle Ridge Hospital music /entertainment therapy funds are provided by the Auxiliary for residents at Eagle Ridge Manor.
The Auxiliary grants a $1,000 Student Bursary annually to an eligible graduating Tri-Cities Student planning to pursue their post secondary school education in the field of health care.
When infants and young children arrive to the hospitals emergency department they are often scared and in pain, a cuddle buddy can become magic.
Children not only love them, but parents also very much appreciate the distraction provided by the bears.
Those cute little smiles make it all worth while, a couple of older patients, when presented with a bear stated “I never ever had a teddy bear” become emotional at the fact that there is someone who cares.
We have been lucky to find two companies who continue to donate the bears for this program.

Fundraising for the Toy Program started at the Burquitlam Plaza Safeway – Because We Care in the fall of 2005. With the funds raised the Auxiliary purchased “Bobblers” and hand puppets. While a hit with the children they were seasonal and not always available. In 2006 with their first donation of Teddy Bears from the BC Liquor store (Westwood). They Auxiliary added a new function to this program. The Trauma Bear program was born. The auxiliary supplies: Stickers, puzzles, Coloring books and other items to emergency and day surgery areas to assist in calming children as needed.
